The City of Stratford joins communities across Canada in recognizing Emergency Preparedness Week from May 5 to 11, 2024.

To find you more easily in an emergency, 911 dispatchers for the municipalities of North Perth, Perth East, West Perth, portions of Perth South, the Town of St. Marys and the City of Stratford are now utilizing a new location technology called what3words.

The City Council and Standing Committee Meetings scheduled for May 27 have been rescheduled to Tuesday, May 28, 2024. These meetings will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Stratford City Hall at 1 Wellington Street, Stratford.

Parking set fines in the City of Stratford are increasing as of May 1, 2024
What does this mean?
This means that set fines for parking related infractions are increasing as of May 1, 2024. For example, an expired meter ticket will carry a set fine of $60, or a $40 voluntary payment if paid within 7 days. Parking in a No Parking area/space will carry a set fine of $80, or a $60 voluntary payment if paid within 7 days.

Please note that Albert Street, between Nile Street and Front Street, will be closed to through traffic starting Monday, March 24, 2024, as the reconstruction of Albert Street resumes.
This temporary closure is expected to last for approximately 9 weeks, until late May.
The work will include watermain and sewer replacement, road and sidewalk construction and landscaping on the section of Albert Street between Nile Street and Front Street.
